Dr. Claire Minshull: Strength Training For Runners

by | Podcasts On Performance

Strength training for runners is a huge topic lately, but frequently filled with myth and misconception. In Runchatlive Ep.44 we have the GREAT pleasure of bringing you Dr. Claire Minshull, a Rehabilitation & Conditioning Specialist who has worked in sports medicine and health for 20+ years as a Senior Lecturer, Researcher, Consultant and Practitioner, with over 30 peer-reviewed articles published.

In this episode, Claire discusses topics such as: • Does strength / resistance training make you big, inflexible or slow? • What sort of reps, sets & weights should runners be using? • Is just running enough to make you a stronger runner? • How can we use strength to ensure that the same injury does not return?

Whether you’re a therapist or runner, coach or personal trainer, this episode will provide you with some awesome tips on how to make strength training work.

RCL International Running Conference 2020

It gives us great pleasure to announce that Dr. Claire Minshull will be a speaker at this year’s RCL International Running Conference on October 29th & 30th in Brighton, UK. And yes, if COVID-19 means we can’t meet up face-to-face there will be a VIRTUAL conference!

Full details are available on the Eventbrite page: RCL2020.eventbrite.co.uk. We are thrilled to say the least and sure that the variety of presentations and two 90 minute Q&A sessions with all TEN speakers on stage will be of HUGE value to therapists, running coaches, runners and personal trainers.

There are ticket options for all, early bird discounts, virtual tickets… just get over ther NOW and have a look! And, as mentioned above, if COVID-19 means that a face-to-face event is not possible, there will be a VIRTUAL conference with all ten speakers, question time sessions, for which all tickets purchased will be valid.
