“Putting Evidence Back Into
Running Injury and Performance”

If It Ain’t Broken: Changing Running Form

by | Sep 23, 2018 | Runchatlive Podcasts: Gait and Shoes

Episode 3 and things are warming up! This week we answer a question from Jack Chew of The Physio Matters Podcast (who actually returns in Episode 22 and a year later joined us as a speaker at the RCL International Running Conference 2019) – “To what extent we should try and tweak the running form of a pain free runner?”

A terrific question; in other words, if there’s nothing broken should we try to fix it? Given that studies are yet to agree on what causes most running related injuries, blaming running technique for injury is a very grey area. For example, for every runner who runs with a dropped hip and suffers from Iliotibial Band Syndrome, there are a host of other hip dropping runners who are not suffering whatsoever.

It’s a world of confusion and misinterpretation, which is exactly why Runchatlive exists: to help dispel the myths and misconceptions that fill the world of running injury and performance.

Want to HELP us? If so, then please share our episodes across social media, especially on Apple Podcasts/iTunes as that really helps us reach new listeners. Thanks in advance and enjoy!

Interested in starting YOUR OWN Podcast?

Here’s two things we wish someone had told us when we started:

  • WHICH PODCAST HOST?
Choosing a suitable host company to upload, store & distribute your podcast material will always depend on your individual circumstances & needs. That said, if you’re looking for a company to help your podcast grow, we recommend Podbean. Set up is super easy, as is transferring from a different host. Click HERE for details.
  • WHICH RECORDING SOFTWARE?
After trying many ways to do both solo recordings and with guests, we wholeheartedly recommend you try Be.Live online software. It’s the best value, simple to use (for you AND your guest), and has some great tools to brand it as you want. Testing the software is FREE (no credit card recquired). Click HERE for full details.
